Dr. Joe Chapman has presented numerous solo piano recitals in Georgia

and throughout the southeast including solo recitals for public radio

and television. He has toured the United States and eight foreign

countries as conductor, accompanist (piano and organ) and soloist.


Beyond his expertise at the keyboard, Dr. Chapman is also active as an

arranger and composer. His musical arrangements have been performed by

choirs and bands from elementary, middle, high schools, and colleges,

throughout the southeast. He is also gaining recognition as a composer

of sacred choral music. As a music theorist, he is currently writing a

comprehensive college music theory text, which includes

computer-generated aural exercises.


As a Professor of Music at North Georgia College & State University,

Dr. Chapman serves as Director of Keyboard Studies and coordinator of

the NGCSU All American Piano Celebration. He also conducts the NGCSU

Orchestra and teaches courses in music theory. He received his Doctor

of Musical Arts Degree in piano performance from the University of

South Carolina in August, 1987. He has served the music profession in a

variety of capacities, including a term as president of the Georgia

Music Teachers Association.
